Dr. Gupta is the Medical Director of Rockford Center, a 132-bed acute care inpatient psychiatric hospital in Newark, DE . He was the President of the Delaware Chapter of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the leading national professional organization for child and adolescent psychiatry and current Treasurer of the chapter. 

Dr. Gupta is certified in both Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his residency training in psychiatry at Hahnemann University/ Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University) Philadelphia, PA. After that, he did a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from Brown University in Rhode Island. In addition, he has also completed a Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Society.
